Motorcyclists to Protest ACC Levy Increases

acc_protest_poster Motorcycle riders of New Zealand. Now is your chance to get seen and heard over the proposed ACC changes that our Government is trying to impose on us.

There is a proposed protest ride to take place on Tuesday 17th November 2009 to converge on Parliament at around 12pm.

From various sources I have found it would appear that there is a couple meeting points around Wellington on the 17th of November.

One is outside the Police College in Porirua, the other is at the duckpond in Avalon Park, Lower Hutt.

According to one source, the two groups will leave within 2 minutes of each other at around 11.30am in order to converge at the Ngauranga interchange where SH 1 and SH 2 meet.

It would be great to see every registered motorcycle in New Zealand there. If you have information regarding meeting points around the regions for those travelling up or down the country please leave them in a comment.

Again if anyone knows of an up to date Central location / website with all the information We’d welcome your comments.

Tell your friends who are not on the net about this. We need as many motorcycles there as possible.

Don’t let this one slide people, Our government has a way of getting away with too much as it is.

It’s time to remind them we can take them out of parliament as easily as they got there.

And it’s when I read stuff like this, that makes me want to just strangle the little #$%^ cage drivers.

Well got up this morning. Thought I was going to go to greymouth to late never mind. Instead headed of to Akaroa. It was a nice day and a good ride. Got there and then had a tiki tour on the way back. Heading home only 10 minutes away travelling at 80 kph in a 80kph area and all of a sudden a car pulls out of a side street. No time to brake, I swerve then at the same time I hear a bang and get shoved across the road. Still wondering how i stayed upright and got back to the right side of the road. left panner smashed along with a couple of other things and exhaust pipe bent and to top it off the bugger didn’t stop. Awitness chased him and got his number. All he got was a ticket for failing to stop at a give way. So the moral to this story is that it will go down as a motorbike accident not the car at fault

I hear or read of things like this too often. CAGE DRIVERS need to bloody wake up and smell the coffee for once.

I have a feeling this protest should have taken place today, given the fact that it is going to be on Parliaments agenda today.

Here’s a classic ACC fact for everyone to wind you up. They spend Millions on a internal system, only to dump it months later.
Also everyone. In relation to the Wellington City Councils proposed parking clamp down on bikes. We need as many signatures as possible. Visit the WCC site for the ePetition.
